Martin Sorrondeguy “Until the Last Breath”

Until the Next Breath, a solo show by Martin Sorrondeguy.

Martin Sorrondeguy aka Martin Crudo is best known for his work within the hardcore punk community by singing and advocating for queer and immigrant rights as frontman of the bands Los Crudos, Limp Wrist and Canal Irreal as well as documenting DIY Punk scenes through video documentaries and creating thousands of photos portraying community and resistance around the world. Martin gained notoriety through these photos by presenting a sensitive look of an aggressive movement to create unique images and a documentation that he’s been working on since the 90’s.

In this show Martin takes a turn and for the first time presents images that are not punk community related, on the contrary these are extremely personal and vulnerable images presented in four series of self-portraits made in the context of pandemia, solitude and loss.

Life, Death and Sex are common themes in this show and even though these are not punk themed images, that same delicate raw energy is very much present in these works.
