Ryan Brown “Watching me Watching You”

Ryan Brown is a multidisciplinary artist living between Brooklyn-NY and Lima-Peru.

His works are also often situated “in between” places and happen at the intersections of different medias. For example, Ryan makes objects that are both paintings, drawings and sculptures - creating images and environments inspired by the legacy of Modern Art. His art incorporates actions that render materials manipulated, fragmented, torn, crushed and rendered into Contemporary-Art. At the same time, the deterioration and evolution of these minimalist images of old auction catalogs manage to resemble the contrast of both modern art and punk imagery.

The use of language comes strong on the titles of the pieces adding another layer of poetry to the works.

Specifically for this show, Ryan presents not only these works but also an audio-visual  site-specific installation with his sculptural dogs.
