Ben Trogdon “Enjoy New York”

Ben Trogdon is a zine maker, photographer, punk drummer and a mixed media artist born in Seattle, raised in Maryland and residing in NYC since 2012.

His trajectory started as a teenager in the late 90’s making zines, a practice that has been constant in his life and which laid the basis to his artwork by allowing him to explore with collage, photo documentation, font making and other analog graphic design techniques used in an era in which photoshop was not prevalent.

Explorations led to extrapolations and his photography went from fitting the function of illustrating the zines to becoming an expressive documentation of a DIY music scene and later adding collage elements and pastel crayon turning it into unique vibrant mixed media works of art.

These works were exhibited in galleries in USA, Europe and on the street of Santiago - Chile and can also be seen in record covers, flyers, as well as in collaboration with established brands.

For this show entitled “Enjoy New York” we present a collection of these mixed media works together with photos from different eras and two large scale banners installations that you will have to see for yourself.
